a5c7b9f00b Victor Maynard is a middle-aged, solitary assassin, who lives to please his formidable mother, despite his own peerless reputation for lethal efficiency. His professional routine is interrupted when he finds himself drawn to one of his intended victims, Rose. He spares her life, unexpectedly acquiring in the process a young apprentice, Tony. Believing Victor to be a private detective, his two new companions tag along, while he attempts to thwart the murderous attentions of his unhappy client.
Hit-man Victor Maynard is proud of his family's tradition in the profession, and is endlessly reminded of his heritage by his interfering mother. When he has problems completing a contract on Rose he is very annoyed to find another company brought in to complete the job. Impulsively defending his former target he finds he is now in danger himself. This is new territory for him - protecting a kleptomaniac wild cannon, or, to put it another way, a head-strong but very attractive young lady.
This is my favourite movie! I think the actors made an incredible job and the director too. I have to say, I envy a lot Emily's wardrobe in this movie, thumbs up to the stylist! She's always wearing something different and original. The best thing about this movie is the different characters and their outstanding personalities. They each have a very different and uncommon way of thinking, they're authentic in everything they do! The songs in the movie are also very British which helps to create a good atmosphere in the motion picture. Perhaps the fact that most of the actors are well-know and famous British actors makes the movie an absolute must-Watch!
I went to see this movie last night on a whim, not knowing what to expect. I am only speculating here but I believe the writers of this movie were aiming to make a quirky British comedy. However, the quirkiness seemed a little forced, like they have tried too hard, especially with Emily Blunt's character.<br/><br/>The whole cinema was silent for the entire feature which was unusual for a comedy. When you go and see a comedy, you expect to laugh. Even for short moments of comedic scenes. However, this did not happen at all.<br/><br/>I believe the big faults in this movie should not be blamed on the actors, but the writers. There was little character building, which means believability in the characters and the relationship between them was difficult.<br/><br/>This was not the worse movie I have ever seen (by far) but it is far from being a good movie either. With other modern British comedies such"The Boat That Rocked", this was just under par.
It's entertainment designed to resemble a good time without aspiring to provide one.
